Passion by Marisa Taylor

Passion for the stars
Passion for the ocean
A moment of passion so easily shared,
With no fear o regret.
Passion is the eagerness to wake up with the light

A moment of passion I'll never forget
My passion found me
And what is my passion?
Passion and lust takes my mind

Passion the power to love,
The speed of passion: Furios
Passion is something you see
Passion its something you are.

  1. While a little all over the place with the overly dramatic metaphors, the strong, romantic ending brings this poem's form together well. Due to the inherently pretentious nature of the theme, modern interpretation and observation of "passion" is very difficult to spin in a captivating and alluring manner. There is blandness in the language that leaves much to be desired; where there is lack of descriptiveness in the choice of words, bold and unique setting or emotion should accompany it in order to compensate. This work feels like it falls just shy of that.
